Diesel Power, On Location
Diesel failures rarely announce themselves politely. Blow-by that was a minor annoyance last month becomes a machine that won’t hold power on a grade, and a fuel system fault turns into a no-start on the morning you needed it most.
We diagnose and rebuild diesel engines on-site across Nevada, on both off-road equipment and Class 5 through 8 trucks. All makes, including Cat, Cummins, Detroit, Deere, Komatsu, Isuzu and Paccar.
What Is Included
We do the whole job, not just the easy half. That means compression and blow-by testing before anyone opens a wallet, and load testing after reassembly before we consider it finished.
What Goes Wrong
Heat, dust and long idle hours define diesel life in Nevada. Those three conditions drive a predictable set of failures, and most of them give warning before they turn catastrophic if somebody is paying attention.
Know The Warning Signs
Diesel engines rarely fail without notice. They lose power gradually, smoke a little more each month, or start harder in the mornings. Catching those changes early is the difference between an injector set and an in-frame overhaul.
Why On-Site
An in-frame overhaul, meaning liners, pistons, rings, bearings and a head rebuild with the block still in the machine, is entirely achievable in the field with the right tooling and a clean work area. We do them regularly on jobsites and in yards across Nevada.
You get the same rebuild you would get in a shop without the transport bill or the weeks of queue time. Every rebuild is load tested before we hand it back, and you receive documentation of what went in for your maintenance file.
Transparent Pricing
Diesel work ranges from an afternoon of injector replacement to a multi-day in-frame overhaul. These are the factors that decide where a given job lands.
Where We Do This Work
We run diesel work throughout the Las Vegas valley including Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin and Boulder City, plus Pahrump, on a same-day basis in most cases.
Reno, Carson City, Fallon and Yerington are covered same or next day depending on the queue, and Elko, Winnemucca, Battle Mountain and Tonopah are scheduled around travel. Off-road equipment and on-road trucks are handled by the same tech on the same visit, which matters if your fleet mixes both.
Yes. In-frame overhauls are routine field work for us. Complete removal and bench rebuild is also possible on location depending on the machine and the site conditions. We’ll tell you which approach makes sense for your engine and hour count before we begin.
Both. Off-road power units in excavators, loaders, dozers and haul trucks, plus Class 5 through 8 on-road diesels in service trucks, water trucks and lowboys. Mixed fleets are handled by the same tech on the same visit.
Not usually. Derates most often trace to a sensor, a plugged filter or a regen that never completed, not to a failed aftertreatment assembly. That’s exactly why we diagnose properly first. Replacing a DPF that was never bad is one of the more expensive mistakes in this trade.
It depends on the engine and parts availability, but budget several days rather than several hours. We’ll give you a realistic timeline up front, including parts lead time, so you can plan the rest of your schedule around it.
It depends on the rest of the machine, not just the engine. If the undercarriage, hydraulics and structure are sound, a rebuild is usually the cheaper route by a wide margin. If several major systems are near end of life simultaneously, we’ll say so. That honesty costs us a rebuild sale sometimes and it’s still the right answer.
Either way works. We source OEM, aftermarket or rebuilt components depending on your budget and how long you plan to keep the machine, or we’ll fit parts you have already bought.
Yes. Power units behind generators, light towers, pumps and compressors run the same diesel engines and get the same service.
