Truckee Meadows & Storey County
Reno isn’t the town it was ten years ago, and neither is the equipment working here. Industrial and data center construction east of the city has put more iron in the ground than the region has seen in decades, and most of it’s running hard.
We do on-site heavy equipment and diesel repair across Reno, Sparks and the surrounding valleys. All makes, all models, repaired where the machine sits.
Local Context
The Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center out along I-80 in Storey County is one of the largest industrial parks anywhere, and the pace of warehouse, data center and manufacturing construction there has reshaped the local equipment market. Big pads, deep utilities and tight program deadlines mean excavators and loaders running long shifts on aggressive schedules.
That workload produces a specific pattern of failure. Machines on production earthwork don’t fail gently, they fail at the worst possible moment, and a fleet that was adequately maintained for occasional civil work is often underprepared for sustained industrial duty. Add the freight and logistics traffic moving through the I-80 corridor and there’s a large population of Class 8 trucks and trailers here needing the same attention.
The wider Truckee Meadows carries the more familiar mix: residential and commercial builders in Reno and Sparks, utility and municipal contractors, landscaping and grading outfits, and aggregate operations in the surrounding hills.
Who We Work For
The equipment we see in the Reno area splits fairly cleanly into four groups, and each brings its own failure profile.
Conditions Here
Southern Nevada equipment lives and dies by heat. Reno is a different problem. Real winter here means cold starts, gelled fuel, hydraulic oil that’s far too thick at seven in the morning, and freeze-thaw cycling that finds every weak seal and hairline crack in a structure.
Cold weather failures are also seasonal in a predictable way, which means they’re preventable. Correct fluid grades going into winter, batteries and charging systems tested before the first hard freeze, block heaters actually working, and coolant checked properly rather than assumed. A machine prepared in October is a machine that starts in January.
The elevation change between the valley floor and the surrounding job sites matters too. A machine working comfortably in Sparks can behave differently on a site a thousand feet higher, particularly on cooling and aftertreatment.
What We Do
Every service we run out of Las Vegas is available in Reno. Field work is held to the same standard wherever the machine happens to sit.
Getting To You
Reno is one of our two anchor markets alongside Las Vegas, and we run scheduled coverage through the region rather than treating it as an occasional trip. In practice that means same or next day in most cases, depending on where the queue sits when you call.
Because Carson City, Fallon and Yerington all sit within a short run of Reno, we often route several jobs across the region in one trip. If your timing has any flexibility, saying so on the phone often gets you seen sooner and keeps travel costs down for everyone.
Yes. Sparks, the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center and the sites along the I-80 corridor east of town are all within our normal Reno coverage. Large industrial sites often have induction or safety orientation requirements, so mention that when you call and we’ll arrange it in advance rather than losing half a day at the gate.
Yes, and winter is when a lot of our northern work happens. Cold complicates field repair but it doesn’t prevent it. Where a job needs shelter or heat to be done properly, we’ll tell you rather than doing substandard work in bad conditions.
Yes. Class 5 through 8 diesel trucks, trailers, water trucks and lowboys, including annual DOT inspections at your yard. Mixed fleets running both equipment and trucks are handled by the same visit.
Usually same or next day. Reno is a scheduled market for us rather than an occasional trip, so response is a lot faster than the distance from Las Vegas would suggest. Call and we’ll give you a real window rather than a vague promise.
Tell us the machine, the symptom and where it sits. You’ll get a straight answer on timing before we hang up.
